You may think you're showing love towards someone, but do they feel loved?  In Dr. Gary Chapman's book titled, "The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love That Lasts" he identifies that there are five types of love languages or behaviors that we can show to give someone the message that we love them.  These 5 love languagages are:

words of affirmation, quality time, receiving gifts, acts of service (helping behaviors), and physical touch.

If is therefore important to know our and our partner's preferred love languages. Why?  Let's me give you an example.  Suppose your love language preferneces are: quality time and physical touch (yes, you can have more than one, but it's usually the top two that scored highest on the love language test that is, in my opinion, the most important behaviors to focus on) yet your partner's love language preference is receiving gifts. You may spending quality time and touch your partner physicall when you're together, thinking you're showing your love to her.  However, because her love language preference is receiving gifts, she'll end up feeling unloved.  She in turn may think that your love language is identical to hers and her gifts to you leaves you empty as well.

By visiting Dr. Gary Chapman's website and doing his free Love Language test, you'll get an understanding of your love language preference(s).  You can then decide if you'd like to find a partner who has similar love languages.  Or simply understanding a date's love lanaguage preference(s) can help you build a connect with that person.

At we strive to do our best, to be open-minded, etc. to incorporate technique that will help our members find their 'match.' We will soon include questions that will allow you to identify your love language aka behaviuors / words that you prefer from others as a sign of their love for you.  Also, we will add a search feature that will allow you to search for "love languages'" - I think I'll label them:   'how I like to give love'  and 'how I like to receive love'.
